Ants and my mother-in-law. Loved my mother-in-law. She was so cute and very kind and loving. But she did have a streak when it came to pests inside the house. She would smash them just as hard as her little self could smash, and then the kind-heartedness would immediately take over and she would say, “Oh, I’m SORRY,” to the dead critter. I used to laugh at her because, well obviously, I am not as kind as she was. For me, pests just don’t belong on God’s green earth whether they are in my space or not. Lately, I’ve been trying to channel my mother-in-law more often. I spend a fair amount of time outdoors walking. I used to step on every small thing that moved in front of me. After all, the next thing I know, they will be in my house. But now I hear my mother-in-law’s voice in my head and reason returns as I realize that it will take 80 generations of that species to get the one mile to my house. Thanks to my mother-in-law, I think I have become kinder, maybe.
Who is a person you know that it would benefit you to be more like?
Stay tuned about the ants.
